As an MCS accredited installer under the Government's Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), installations completed by Sims Solar qualify for the Feed in Tariff (FiT).

Sims Solar specialises in the installation of:
Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems: PV systems comprise panels incorporating silicon wafers that generate DC electricity when exposed to sunlight. The DC electricity is converted through an inverter to AC electricity for use at the point of generation or exported to the National Grid. Under the Government's FiT scheme, an income can be earned from the electricity generated. Solar thermal systems: Solar thermal systems use sunlight to heat water. The systems typically comprise roof mounted collectors that harness the sun's energy and transfer it to a hot water storage cylinder. Under the Government's proposed Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) to be launched in June 2011, an income can be earned for the hot water produced.
